Tone

Definition: The mood or attitude of the poem that the author puts the poem in.

Example: O Captain My captain! The attitude in this is like a rejoicing attitude.

Significance: If poems didn't have tones then the poem would be very boring. Also poems need tones to make poems flow smoothly.
