Definition: Poetry is a type of art where you express your feelings using words. Poetry uses rich and powerful words also figurative language, imagery, and rhyming words to make an image in the readers head. Poetry also flows very smoothy. 

Example: Word to the wise. The world is disguised.
Look with your heart.
Not with your eyes.

Significance: Poetry is way of expressing yourself by writing it with powerful words.
